Trip to the National Gallery
On Wednesday 22nd January, Year 1 visited the National Gallery. The boys set off on their journey with great enthusiasm.
As we approached central London the famous sites caught their attention and the excitement mounted. Inside the gallery the boys’ behaviour was exemplary; they all walked around sensibly, viewing the paintings with interest.
The highlight of the day was seeing the painting ‘Tiger in a Tropical Storm’ by Henri Rousseau. After this the boys demonstrated excellent concentration skills, thinking about every single detail whilst sketching some paintings. T
hey were also fascinated to learn more about the paintings when a museum guide engaged them in exploring different elements of art. We are very grateful to the parents who accompanied us on our trip, it was a memorable outing and much enjoyed by all!
