Admissions

Boys join WCPS in the September following their fourth birthday. We ask for a report from their nursery school and spend time getting to know your son before we offer a place. We hope that this will help us to discover if our school will be a good match for your son and that we believe he will flourish here.

We understand that choosing the right school for your son can seem like a daunting process and as it is such an important decision, we aim to make it as easy a journey as possible.

Joining Reception

Admission is at 4 years old into Reception.

WCPS is selective from Reception upwards. Registrations are accepted from birth, as soon as the birth certificate is available. Please complete the registration form, this can be downloaded by clicking the link on the right hand side of the page, and paying online the registration fee of £150. Please return this form along with the birth certificate to info@wcps.org.uk or via the post.

Our 4+ Assessment Process

Our entry process is academically selective and assessments are held in a friendly, nursery-style environment, with activities designed to enable the child to relax and be themselves. At 4+ we are looking for potential, rather than what has already been learnt. The assessment covers language and social skills, number, physical and creative skills.

4+ 2024 - Reception entry in September 2024

This entry is for boys with birth dates from 01 September 2019 to 31 August 2020.

Please contact the school office for information on our current spaces.

4+ 2025 - Reception entry in September 2025

This entry is for boys with birth dates from 01 September 2020 to 31 August 2021.

Children who are registered with us, have been invited to an assessment. The assessment will act as a screening to select those children who have the potential to thrive in a school with an active curriculum.

Please contact the school office for information on our current spaces.

Occasional Places

Occasional places arise from time to time in the older year groups. Parents should contact the School Office for current details of availability. Selection for places in classes from Reception upwards is based on a child’s potential to thrive in our School environment, which is established through an assessment session, as well as a report from their nursery or current school.

Children registered for entry after 5 years of age (i.e into Year 1 and above) are invited to an informal interview and to complete some written papers. Once more, we ask for a report from his previous school as we seek to ensure WCPS will be a positive experience for your son.

All children entering WCPS will be preparing for entry to their future schools at age 7+.
